Advanced Placement (AP)

Advanced Placement

Overview

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies — with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement or both — while still in high school. AP Exams are given each year in May. A score of three (3) or higher on an AP Exam can typically earn students college credit and/or placement into advanced courses in college.

Advanced Placement & Concurrent Enrollment at STEM

When possible, STEM combines Concurrent Enrollment (CE) and Advanced Placement content into one course. This allows students to earn college credit through Arapahoe Community College, and prepare for AP exams. STEM highly encourages all students enrolling in CE courses to also take AP exams to earn college credit for many out-of-state universities.
