Traffic Plan

Traffic Plan
Please read a letter to our school families explaining the traffic control around STEM along with the traffic violations and fines from Douglas County Department of Public Works Engineering. We hope this will be of help to encourage drivers and students to follow the traffic control and provide a safer environment for all.

THERE IS NO DROP-OFF DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOL.

Elementary Drop Off Locations/Process

Elementary AM Drive Line:

K-5th grade students will be dropped off and report to the designated area for each grade level, identified by the light blue boxes on the diagram. Students arriving prior to 8:10 should report to the BASE program. Staff will be available to supervise that area beginning at 8:05am and will walk students into the building at 8:10am. Classes begin at 8:20am.

Students dropped off with middle/high school siblings, prior to 8:10 will be provided a tag and should enter the elementary entrance and will be supervised by the Academy staff. The sibling tag provides supervision without additional cost.

Parents of single students will drop off their students after 8:05am will not be charged any additional fees.

Students that do not have siblings and arrive prior to 8:10 will be charged a $5.00 fee for this supervision. We encourage families to register for the BASE program. See the information on the Academy website.

We are pleased to continue our partnership with Schoolpool to help parents get their students to/from school.  Schoolpool is a service of Way to Go, a federally funded program of the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG).  It’s free and there is no obligation to participate.

Schoolpool works as follows:

  • Go to your parent portal to get our transportation link and create an account!  For security reasons, this link is the only way to enter the system for STEM School.

  • Using the secure website, parents register to find and contact interested STEM families in their area.
  • Parents may register with their home intersection instead of home address.
  • Way to Go’s only goal is to help reduce traffic congestion and pollution, so rest assured your information will only be shared with STEM families--no third parties will ever see it, unless you elect to share your information with families at other schools.
  • Comments can be added to indicate special requests or preferences, such as “can provide morning rides in exchange for afternoon rides,” “student is in afterschool activities” or “looking for a walk buddy in the mornings.”
  • The service can be used for planning full-time, part-time or emergency trips.
  • It is a great resource to meet nearby families for other reasons such as temporary transportation needs for emergencies, play dates, baby sitters, summer BBQs, etc.
  • The more families that register the more likely parents are able to find good matches.

Contact Way to Go at 303-458-7665 or waytogo@drcog.org for assistance.

Information is provided for your use only. Way to Go does not run background checks, confirm valid drivers' licenses or assess insurance coverage on participants. Potential users are advised to screen participants to their personal satisfaction and check their own insurance coverage for carpooling to assure that they are covered under these voluntary arrangements.  No drivers, vehicles or insurance are provided.
