STEM Hybrid

PLEASE NOTE: Starting January 5, 2012, the STEM Hybrid program has relocated to the Horizon Community Church at 2121 Dad Clark Drive, Highlands Ranch, CO, 80126.

Hybrid part-time school provides STEM courses for homeschool students!

STEM Hybrid is FREE, publicly-funded, part-time charter school operating under the STEM School and is designed to meet the needs of Middle/High school families.

The on-site Hybrid program will include teaching and curriculum for the following courses:

  • Math
  • Science
  • Writing/Communications
  • Applied Science (Electricity/Circuits, Rocketry, Flight, Robotics, Forensics, Survival Skills and more!)

In addition, there will be exciting opportunities for students to work with the STEM Academy for courses such as Robotics, Rocketry, etc.   Students will meet from 7:45-2:45 on Wednesday and Friday.  Students may choose to participate in one or both days.  A syllabus is provided for students to follow during off-campus days.  Attending classes both days will provide opportunities for students to gain valuable reinforcement and a deeper understanding of the material.

Programming:

  1. STEM Hybrid part-time school:
STEM courses (Math, Science, Writing/Communications and Applied Science) on-site at the STEM Charter School.  Parents will assume responsibility for all courses not taught at Hybrid.
  2. STEM Hybrid part-time school + eDCSD online school:
STEM courses (Math, Science, Writing/Communications and Applied Science) on-site at the STEM Charter School and courses through Douglas County online school (eDCSD).   Students must register with eDCSD and would be considered full-time for funding purposes since state funds would be split between STEM High and eDCSD.  However, parents will assume responsibility for all courses not taught through these schools.
  3. STEM Hybrid + Community College Concurrent Enrollment:
Part-time STEM courses (Math, Science, Writing/Communications and Applied Science) on-site at the STEM Charter School and 1-2 courses at Arapahoe Community College.  Students will need to complete an Accuplacer test and meet with the STEM Counselor for enrollment guidance and approval for class selection. Parents will assume responsibility for all courses not taught through these programs.
